I not only like to work with brushes and paint in the studio,
but also on the computer with image processing programs.
All elements of the collages come from my own photographs. I cut out, reshape and put together. Work with structures, colors, transparencies.
The advantage of a digital collage: In contrast to “found” pieces of paper, I can change the size of my picture elements, redesign them in color so that they optimally support the message I want to achieve.
All digital collages are professionally printed on Alu-Dibond and mounted in floating frames that my favourite craftsman has built.
For a group exhibition in the series “Art in the City Hall” in Waldbröl I am dealing with the topics “Appreciation of nature” and “Climate crisis”.
For this purpose, among other things, these digital collages were created unter the title:
We have it in our hands
Nature does not need man, it was on earth before man’s appearance and will still be there when he is no longer as a species. But man needs nature, it is vital, vital for him.
Global Warming Stripes
A second series of digital collages uses the “Global Warming Stripes” by climatologist Ed Hawkins as a pictorial element.
He visualized the average temperatures by means of colored stripes – one per year – in order to make the temperature changes over a longer period of time visible and comprehensible.
