Landscapes are my main subject in painting.
I like to travel through Germany and Europe, collecting impressions with the camera.
At home I try to incorporate my memories of the places and feelings there into the paintings. And maybe I also awaken memories or longings in the viewer.
I am particularly fascinated by the sea. Whether the North Sea or the Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean or the Atlantic, the wide view over the water gives me peace and quiet but also gives me energy. The rhythm of the waves that run on the beach, lick the sand, withdraw again, has a relaxing effect and also lets my thoughts run free.
France is a favorite travel destination because of its diversity.
Brittany in the northwest has Celtic charm and is reminiscent of southern England.
Collioure, located directly on the Pyrenees, has been a magnet for painters since 1905. Matisse, Picasso, Braque, they have all been here.

Water, water over and over again.
And a feeling of space that can also arise on a lake.
