Im Atelier: Steine – eins von zwei neuen Projekten

Im letzten Blogbeitrag habe ich euch erzählt, dass ich zwei neue Projekte am Start habe. Eins davon dreht sich um die Farbe Rot, das andere um Steine.

Im heutigen Video starte ich in dieses Thema mit drei Leinwänden im Format 40 x 40 cm.

Ich möchte versuchen, das Motiv “Strandschätze” (ursprünglich 80 x 80 cm) in diesem kleinen Format umzusetzen.

Halbe Seitenlänge bedeutet ein Viertel der Fläche. Die Steine möchte ich aber nicht viel kleiner malen als beim großen Bild. Wird das funktionieren?

Und werde ich den Hintergrund, der durch einen “Happy accident”, einen glücklichen Zufall, entstanden ist, reproduzieren können?

Die drei ersten Bilder der Serie “Steine” sind auf einem guten Weg.

Ich werde mich zwischendurch auch immer wieder mit der Farbe Rot beschäftigen. Nach den Mischübungen wird das Skizzenbuch meine Spielwiese. Acrylfarben, Ölpastellkreide, Farbstifte, vielleicht auch Collagematerial – ich bin gespannt, wie die verschiedenen Rottöne sich kombinieren lassen. Und wie ich mit ihnen Kontrast und Harmonie aufs Papier bringen kann. Aber darum geht es dann ein anderes Mal.

In the studio: Stones – one of two new projects

In the last blog post I told you that I have two new projects in the pipeline. One of them is about the color red, the other about stones.

In today’s video I start this topic with three canvases in the format 40 x 40 cm.

I would like to try to implement the motif “Strand Treasures” (originally 80 x 80 cm) in this small format.

Half a side means a quarter of the area. But I don’t want to paint the stones much smaller than in the big painting. Will this work?

And will I be able to reproduce the background created by a “happy accident”?

The first three paintings in the “Stones” series are on the right track.

From time to time, I will also deal with the color red. After the mixing exercises, the sketchbook becomes my playground. Acrylic paints, oil pastels, colored pencils, maybe also collage material – I’m curious to see how the different shades of red can be combined. And how I can bring contrast and harmony to paper. But that’s for another time.
