Speicherfund: Zwei stark abstrahierte Landschaften

Vor einiger Zeit habe ich ein Foto von meiner Bilderecke auf dem Speicher gezeigt, die dringend eine Neuorganisation braucht. Ich möchte das in diesem Sommer angehen und habe damit begonnen, alle Bilder, Rahmen und was da so lagert erstmal aus der Ecke zu holen. Jedes Bild schaue ich mir genau an und entscheide: Wirst du aufgehoben oder kannst du übermalt werden?

Dabei sind mir zwei Bilder in die Finger gefallen, von denen ich gar nicht wusste, dass sie noch existieren.

Zwei Keilrahmen im Format 40 x 60 cm, die früher schon mal Bilder trugen, dann aber überarbeitet wurden. Keine Ahnung, wie oft. Ich weiß nur noch, was zuerst auf den Leinwänden zu sehen war:

Inspiriert haben mich damals Deko-Bilder, die ich irgendwo gesehen habe und bei denen ich dachte: Muss ich ausprobieren. Ein häufiger Startpunkt, oder? Und einer, der nirgendwo hinführte, weil das einfach nicht mein Ding war.

Viel Farbe, aufgetragen mit Malspachteln, hat alles überdeckt, was da war und zwei neue Bilder entstanden, die damals schon das Thema “Weite und Offenheit” hatten, ohne dass es mir klar war. Zu jener Zeit habe ich einfach experimentiert und mir keine Gedanken darüber gemacht, warum ich etwas tue. Das ist heute anders.

Diese beiden abstrakten Landschaften werden vorerst bleiben, habe ich entschieden.

Und wer weiß, beim Sichten der Bilder vom Speicher wird vielleicht noch der eine oder andere überraschende Fund auftauchen.

Attic find: Two highly abstracted landscapes

Some time ago I showed a photo of my picture corner in the attic, which urgently needs a reorganization. I want to tackle that this summer and have started to get all the paintings, frames and whatever is stored out of the corner. I look at each painting carefully and decide: Do I want you to be saved or can you be painted over?

Two paintings fell into my hands, I didn’t even know they still existed.

Two stretcher frames in the format 40 x 60 cm, which used to carry paintings, but were then revised. Don’t know how often. I only remember what was on the canvas first:

Back then, I was inspired by decorative pictures that I saw somewhere and thought: I have to try that. A common starting point, right? And one that went nowhere because that just wasn’t my thing.

A lot of paint, applied with a painting knife, covered everything that was there and two new paintings were created, which at that time already had the theme “width and openness”, without me realizing it. At that time I was just experimenting and not thinking about why I was doing something. That’s different today.

I will keep these two abstract landscapes, at least for some time, I’ve decided.

And who knows, when looking through the paintings from the attic, one or the other surprising find might turn up.
