Erinnert ihr euch an letztes Jahr? Damals um diese Zeit hatte ich – eher durch Zufall – von einer weltweiten Aktion gehört: The 100 Day Project:
Man sucht sich ein kreatives Projekt – etwas, das man täglich für mindestens fünf oder zehn Minuten tun möchte – und arbeitet dann 100 Tage in Folge daran. Und man macht jeden Tag ein Foto davon, postet es auf Instagram mit dem Hashtag #100dayproject (und gerne noch eigenen Hashtags) und ist so Teil dieser Online-Kunst-Aktion (meinen Blog-Artikel vom letzten Jahr findet ihr hier).
In diesem Jahr habe ich ich ganz bewusst im Netz gesucht, ob und wann es wieder ein 100-Tage-Projekt geben wird.
Klar, so ein Projekt kann jeder jederzeit für sich selber starten. Oder auch ein 30-Tage-Projekt oder ein Zwei-Monate-Projekt oder was auch immer. Aber wenn alle gleichzeitig auf ihrem 100-Tage-Weg sind, ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit größer, dass man ihn bis zum Ende geht. Und es macht einfach Spaß zu schauen, was all die anderen 100 Tage lang machen.
Und siehe da, auch in 2022 gibt es diese Aktion. Sie startet am 13. Februar und läuft dann bis zum 24. Mai. Alle Infos dazu findet ihr auf der Website the100dayproject.org.
Und jetzt kommt der Knackpunkt: Ich habe eine Weile überlegt, ob ich nochmal mitmachen soll oder nicht.
Einerseits juckt es mich in den Fingern, mich wieder auf diese Challenge einzulassen. Es hat ja Spaß gemacht, hat meine Atelier-Routine befördert und ich habe viel gelernt rund um das Thema “Kontraste” (das hatte ich mir als Projekt ausgesucht).
Andererseits werde ich im Frühjahr sicher deutlich mehr unterwegs sein als letztes Jahr um die gleiche Zeit. Könnte ich dann überhaupt täglich am Projekt arbeiten? Und was sollte das für ein Projekt sein?
Ihr ahnt es schon, wie die Entscheidung ausgegangen ist: Ich werde teilnehmen!
Es ist nämlich an der Zeit, mal wieder mehr mit Collage zu machen. Details zu Format und Thema muss ich mir noch überlegen, auf jeden Fall sollte es reisetauglich sein.

The 100-day project – next round?
Do you remember last year? At that time I heard – more by chance – about a worldwide campaign: The 100 Day Project:
You pick a creative project – something you want to do for at least five or 10 minutes a day – and then work on it 100 days straight. And you take a photo of it every day, post it on Instagram with the hashtag #100dayproject (and you’re welcome to use your own hashtags) and are thus part of this online art campaign (you can find my blog article from last year here) .
This year I deliberately looked online to see if and when there would be another 100-day project.
Of course, anyone can start such a project for themselves at any time. Or even a 30-day project or a two-month project or whatever. But if everyone is on their 100-day-journey at the same time, you’re more likely to complete it. And it’s just fun to see what everyone else is doing for 100 days.
Lo and behold, this campaign will also be available in 2022. It starts on February 13th and runs until May 24th. All information can be found on the website the100dayproject.org.
And now comes the crux of the matter: I thought for a while whether I should take part again or not.
On the one hand, my fingers are itching to take on this challenge again. It was fun, it boosted my studio routine and I learned a lot about the topic of “contrasts” (that’s what I chose as a project).
On the other hand, I will certainly be out and about a lot more in the spring than last year at the same time. Would I then be able to work on the project every day? And what kind of project should that be?
You can already guess how the decision went: I will take part!
It’s about time to do more with collage again. I still have to think about the details about the format and topic, but it should definitely be suitable for travel.
